Memorial Employees Enjoy Excellent Benefit Package

Medical Plans: At Memorial Health System, we offer plans that provide medical benefits for full and part-time employees and their families. Our plans offer both in and out-of-network choices and upon enrollment coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. .

Dental Plan: A dental plan is offered for full- and part-time employees and their dependents. Covered services include preventative care, basic and major restorative care, and orthodontic care for children up to age 18. Employees share in the premium costs and upon enrollment, coverage becomes effective the first day of employment.

Vision Plan: Memorial offers a vision plan for full- and part-time employees and their dependents. The plan includes coverage for vision exams and the purchase of frames, lenses and contact lenses at both in and out-of-network providers. Employees pay the full premium cost for this plan through payroll deduction and upon enrollment coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. Note that our medical plans cover one vision exam per year for covered participants. This separate vision plan provides additional coverage for the other items listed here.

Life Coverage: Full- and part-time employees receive free life insurance coverage. Eligible employees will be covered according to the following:

  • Full-time employees have coverage equal to one times the base annual salary with a minimum of $25,000.
  • Part-time employees have a flat $25,000 coverage.

Supplemental life insurance is available through voluntary plans with PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association of Colorado) and ING. The employee pays the full cost of the premium for these plans through payroll deduction. Evidence of Insurability may be required.

Short-Term Disability: Short-term disability insurance is offered to all full- and part-time employees. The employee pays the full cost of the premium through payroll deduction. The short-term disability benefit pays up to 60 percent of your base salary for a maximum of 26 weeks with a 14 day waiting period for an accident or illness. Upon enrollment, coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. You are also provided a free disability plan once you have five years of Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) service credit.

Long-Term Disability: A long-term disability plan provides protection for you and your family should you become disabled for a period of time exceeding 180 days. Full- and part-time employees are eligible for this benefit which pays up to 60 percent of your pre-disability salary. Memorial pays the full premium cost of the coverage. Coverage becomes effective the first day of employment.

Option to Waive Medical Benefits: Full- and part-time employees are given the option of signing an agreement to waive our medical plans if they can provide proof of coverage under another medical plan. Additional compensation for participation is paid as long as other medical coverage continues.

Flexible Spending Accounts: M-Flex is a plan that allows you to set aside pretax money into accounts for non-reimbursable medical expenses and dependent care expenses. You may sign up for one or both of these accounts if you are a full- or part-time employee. You determine an annual amount you want to pledge and it will be deducted pre-tax from your paycheck. You need to use your flex money or you lose it.

Employee Recognition Programs:

A.C.E. Award program is an employee appreciation program where coworkers or patients (or their family members) can recommend employees for recognition related to extraordinary customer service. Winners may choose a prize from one of several categories.
